Proverb 17:22 - Maribeth Benson
There are several birds that have taken up residence amongst the grasses and wetlands bordering our property. I was weeding in the backyard this past weekend and these strange birds kept running towards me. They puffed out their chests and stuck a wing out, as if it was broken, and then ran off with the poor wing bent over.
I didn’t realize these birds were called Kill Deer and that their M.O. was to feign a broken wing to lure you away from their nest. Not knowing this, I felt sorry for these poor birds… Our backyard now looks like a M.A.S.H. unit; all these birds are walking around with little slings on their wings!
Quite a sight I must say.
A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.
