Living in the Kingdom of God - Cal Pierce
Cal PierceI see so many believers who are stressed by what is going on in the world. They live in fear of what might happen. The goal of the enemy is to cause the church to have a fear in him, rather than faith in God. The condition of the world shouldn’t determine the position of the church. The position of the church should change the condition of the world. Jesus warned us about the problems we would have in the world.
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”There are two things we need to take note of here, in Jesus we have peace. In the world we have tribulation. Where we set our mind will determine whether or not we will have victory. Victory is in the Kingdom of God, not the world. In Colossians 3, verses 1 and 2 we are told,
“If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”If we set our mind on the world we will have tribulation, if we set our mind on the things above we will have peace. We have an unshakable Kingdom inside of us, it will remain unshakable as long as we focus on Jesus and not the world. We are called to change the world, not have the world change us. We need to remind ourselves that we are in the world, not of the world. The goal of the enemy is to get us to set our mind on what he is doing to cause tribulation in the world. By doing this he causes fear, doubt and tribulation in us, in order to steal our authority. Our Kingdom authority is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If we focus on what the enemy is doing we will lose our peace and joy by replacing it with fear, doubt and unbelief. No matter what the condition of the world our mandate from God never changes. We are to establish and extend His kingdom by bringing His Gospel to all the world. We are to live in the Kingdom of God, as the Kingdom of God lives in us. Why do we worry about the condition of the world that we are called to change. If God hasn’t changed then why should we? Let’s set our minds on the things above, where God is, and those things will move us, not the things happening on earth. We overcome the world when God is allowed to overcome us. One thing I know for sure is that we are on the winning team. With God, all things are possible!
