Confusing the Enemy - Debbie Powell

Judges 7:19-22 says, “So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and smashed the pitchers that were in their hands. When the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers, they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing, and cried, 'A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!'

"Each stood in his place around the camp; and all the army ran, crying out as they fled. When they blew 300 trumpets, the Lord set the sword of one against another even throughout the whole army…”

Gideon was able by the Lord to defeat the enemy.  They uncapped their light (their authority and the reflection of God’s Glory) and they blew their horns (the roar of the Lion of Judah).  The enemy was confused and they battled each other.

We don’t have to battle the enemy, we can allow the enemy to battle and defeat himself and then we take the spoils.  We take the land.  We have the weapons of our warfare and we need to use them.  We need to grow up into that place where we are walking in our authority; to let the Lion of Judah within us reign; to be a force in our changing world.
