New Wine is Pouring Out - Cal Pierce

We are in a season that requires change. God never changes but we need to constantly change. Without change we will not row in the things of God. It is essential that we change in order to bring a Kingdom message to a changing world. The world is changing as man begins to redefine everything; what a marriage looks like, who uses what bathroom and what a leader looks and acts like.

The need to deliver the new wine of God's truth to a desperate world is ever increasing. The new wine will be lost if we try to pour it into old wineskins. The Word warns us of this in Matthew, chapter 9, verse 17, "Nor do men put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst and the wine pours out and the wineskin is ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins and both are preserved."

Even though the message we bring doesn't change, the people we deliver it to have changed. The old wineskin we used to deliver the new wine in, in the past may not work well today. The issues of marriage and gender today may need a new wineskin of thinking that creates an openness for those needing to hear the new wine of the gospel message. The old wineskin may have had attitudes against transgender people that brings rejection of God's message. The new wineskin will require attitudes on our part that open the door for the new wine message. If we are not trusting God and have a bad attitude that rejection, then we can pour out all the new wine we want but it will be lost because it will not be received.

We don't love the sin but we must love the sinner. We must ask the Holy Spirit for help on how to develop a wineskin of love that makes us approachable. Our nation is having an identity crises that can only be solved by identifying with Jesus. You and I will be the ones who bring the message. We must not only bring the message, we must also become the message so that the wine will not be lost.
