You Are An Over-comer!

"Where we set our mind will determine our victory."

In our last newsletter, I talked about our authority that we must exhibit in this hour of uncertainty the world is experiencing. God gives us authority so that we can gain victory over our enemy. We are at war. We are entering a new season where old mindsets will not help us. We now live in a combat zone where we experience what God has told us, about not battling against flesh and blood, but against strongholds in heavenly places. We war against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, and against forces of wickedness all around us. (Eph. 6:12)

The enemy is doing all he can to steal the victory from God's people; he is after the Word of God. The enemy brings trouble in order to steal the Word from you, because it's the truth that sets you free. The truth is the will of God for you. Because it's His will for you He wants you to have it. The truth is Col. 3:1-2

If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

The goal of the enemy is that we set our mind on the things on earth. Then we walk by what we see and experience from the enemy and lose faith. God is telling us to set our minds on things above where we receive our authority to live in victory. Where we set our mind will determine our victory. When we set it above, then we become strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. (Eph. 6:10) We are warriors who put on the full armor of God, that we may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. (Eph. 6:11)

God knows we can't fight in our own strength. He is telling us to battle in His might, that we will become strong in Him, no matter what it looks like. In His might, with His armor you can stand firm as an over-comer. Jesus said to take courage, He has overcome the world. (John 16:33) You can't be an over-comer unless you have something to over-come. The way to overcome the enemy is to be overcome by God.

Jesus has already overcome the enemy and in Him we have the power to overcome as well. This is the truth the enemy doesn't want us to know. Notice, truth sets us free, but the lie of the enemy; (poverty, sickness, death), binds us up with failure.

Your victory isn't determined by your condition, it's determined by your position. When our position is set in God and His might, and is unchangeable, then our condition has to change. It will change because, greater is He who is in you than he who is coming against you. We cannot live in victory unless we address who we are in Christ. We cannot change what we avoid. If we stay in a wrong position, we will constantly battle for victory, rather than from victory.
