The Great Awakening - Cal Pierce
I believe we are in the beginning of a great awakening. God desires to pour out His Spirit on all flesh. (Joel 2:28) Jesus died to save the lost and heal the sick. We desperately need an encounter of God in the world today.
It’s important to know that revival isn’t up to God, it’s up to us. We are the vessels that God uses to arrive on earth. God calls us to arise and shine. The world is in darkness and desperate for the light of God’s Kingdom.
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth.
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you.
And His glory will been seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Notice that this scripture says arise, because your light has come? It doesn’t say you have to wait for the light to come; it already has come. Jesus says, “You are the light of the world.” It is time for us to arise and shine. When we do this, nations will come to our light. Jesus said, “If I am lifted up I will draw all men to me.” It is when we arise that Isaiah 61:1, 2 is activated,
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn…
The awakening isn’t for the church, it is for the afflicted, the brokenhearted, to set the captives free and proclaim that this is the favorable year of our God.
It is time that we begin to press in with expectation for a great outpouring of God’s glory upon the earth. If we will arise and shine, God will rise upon us with an anointing to bring deliverance to those in captivity. This isn’t something that is to happen every so often in history, talking about past revivals. This is something that is to arrive on earth and be sustaining to establish God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
