Destroying Cancer - Cal Pierce

Here at the home office, we have declared war on cancer. We are seeing so many attacks by cancer. To win this war, we have to expose the enemy and know how to overcome him.
In Ephesians 6:12, we are told that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against powers of darkness and against spiritual forces of wickedness. In verse 13 we are exhorted to take up the full armor of God so that we may be able to resist in the evil day. How do we do this? Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might! (verse 10)

So how do we fight against cancer? This scripture tells us it’s a battle in the realm of the spirit. It’s a battle against the enemy who is wicked. We fight with weapons that are mighty in God to tear down the stronghold of cancer. We are told to put on the full armor of God so that the fiery darts of cancer won’t injure us. We not only have the power to destroy cancer but we have the power to resist it.

We resist with the truth because truth sets us free. The enemy who brings cancer, is a tempter. You only need to tempt someone you don’t have authority over. The goal of the enemy is to get us to battle according to the flesh. He knows that our flesh is our weak point. Our power is in the Spirit. In Matthew 26, verse 41 it says, “Do not enter into temptation, the flesh is weak.”

Jesus calls the devil the father of lies, there is no truth in him. The enemy wants us to embrace the lie through temptation. He enters through the weakness of the flesh to do this. He brings the spirit of cancer into the flesh in order for us to agree with it. Agreement causes us to buy into temptation. If the enemy tempts us by giving us cancer, and we agree with it, we empower him with our belief system. The goal of all temptation is that we agree with the enemy. In Matthew 18, verse 19, says, “If two of you agree upon touching anything on earth, it shall be done unto you.”

You can’t overcome the enemy on his terms. The enemy knows we have authority over all his power. He can’t win in the spirit because the power we have is the Holy Spirit. The spirit of cancer then has to come against the flesh to tempt us to battle according to his terms, in the flesh.

One of our directors faced this kind of temptation. The enemy brought the spirit of cancer against her. As the doctor told her she had terminal breast cancer, her response was that she didn’t agree with the lie of the enemy and that she is healed by the blood of Jesus. The outcome was that she is now cancer free. The enemy lost the battle because he could not cause her to agree with his temptation.

Cancer is driven by the spirit of fear. Notice when cancer comes, it is always accompanied by fear. The goal of fear is to steal our faith. Faith comes from God and is the substance of things hoped for. Fear comes from the enemy and is the substance of things not desired. In other words, faith moves God but fear moves the enemy. The power of faith is always greater than the power of fear.

If we are to overcome cancer we must know how to fight. It is the enemy's goal that we come down to his level and fight by the flesh. Our battle is against forces of darkness that cannot be overcome by the flesh. To win we must be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. (Eph 6:10)
