I was discussing, with a church leader, the condition of the world today and our need for revival. The church leader said that throughout history we have always seen world conditions that were thought to be bringing us to the end of society. He said look at what we thought just before WWII. At that time we thought the world was coming to an end. I can agree, we have always had wars and rumors of wars. We have always had violent storms and earthquakes.
The thing that we haven’t had is the moral attack to make this nation a Godless nation. A supreme court looking to redefine God’s word on marriage. Prayer being taken out of schools. Abortion being legal and now needing guns for protection in schools and churches. The creating of “A New Norm” for what a typical family should look like. America has never been threatened like this in all our history. This same attack is happening in all nations. Darkness is covering the whole earth.
Man’s kingdom without God will be in failure. Our goal in this hour, is to stay focused on Jesus. We are to live in His will and bring it to earth. Colossians 3, verses 1 and 2 tells us what to do:
If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
This tells us, if we focus on the world and what man does, we will become part of the problem. If we focus and seek the things above that God has for us, we will become the answer. Sure, darkness is covering the earth, but Isaiah 60 says to “arise and shine for your light has come.” The glory of the Lord has risen upon you! God is telling us, even when deep darkness covers the people, His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.
This is what revival will look like. It will awaken us to all that God is and all that He has. Our heavenly Father will begin to raise up fathers who will restore the hearts of children to their father and the hearts of fathers to their children according to Malachi chapter 4. People who have had an identity crisis will be moved from an orphan spirit to the spirit of adoption as sons and daughters of the King. This revival will be known in the city as much as in the church. The love of the Father will be known as never before. This great love will allow the Holy Spirit to be unrestricted as He moves through believers. All that the Kingdom of God has will come on the earth in its fullness.
There will be a revolution of revelation. This will bring an understanding of God’s truth as we have never had before. Signs, wonders and miracles will be exhibited as never seen before. The harvest will be so numerous that it can’t be counted.
Now it is time to set ourselves into 2 Chronicles 7:14:
If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
The promise is to us! If we will humble ourselves and pray and seek His face, He will hear from Heaven, pour out His Spirit on all flesh and heal our land.
