Loving God – Living Victoriously - Cal Pierce
The greatest key to living victoriously in this season is loving God. When we love Him, we will learn to trust Him. In 1 John, chapter 4, verses 16 thru 18, we are told,
“And we have come to know, and have believed, the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgement; because as He is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment and the one who fears is not perfected in love.”
Notice it says when we abide in love, we abide in God, who is love, and then God abides in us. How can we not live in victory if God is abiding in us? If God is with us then who can be against us? When we abide in love and God is abiding in us, we need to see ourselves that way. The enemy will measure us by how we see ourselves. If we know God is abiding in us, the Word says then we will have confidence in the day of trouble and know, as He is, so also are we in this world.
There is then no fear in love because perfect love casts out all fear. When His love is present in us, then fear cannot get a foothold. By God’s love His promises are given to us, that we should live in them. When we live in His promises then His love is perfected in us. The receiving of the blessings of His promises comes to us as we abide in His love. To embrace fear, we have to step out of love. When we step out of love, we lose the promises. We then open the door to the enemy who uses fear to bring punishment.
Living in victory comes by knowing that God is love and desires to abide in us. By His love we are shielded from fear so that no weapon formed against us will prosper. When the enemy attacks just know, by His love, greater is He who is in you than he who comes against you!
