God is positioning His Church today to receive new wine. We have entered into a new season that requires the old wineskin to be reworked so that the new wine isn’t lost to religion and tradition. As the power of darkness in the world increases, the power of Light must increase greater. The Truth of who God is and what He does must increase in His people in order for His will to be fulfilled on earth.

It is the abiding in the Word that makes disciples and knowing of Truth that makes them free. (John 8:32) The ability of the Church to impact their city will be determined by the revelation of Truth they receive. Where we go in God will be measured by the Truth we know. Truth doesn’t set us free, it makes us free. You can be set free from prison and not live free. When God makes you free, no matter where you are, you can live free. The knowledge of God’s Word, Truth, will increase power in the Church to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. (Proverbs 24:5)

For the manifold Wisdom of God to be made known to the rulers of this age in heavenly places, according to Ephesians 3:9-13, we will have to see the Church as five-fold. The old wineskin sees the Church as a congregation of people meeting on Sunday with a pastor leading. The Church has a Pastor but also must include Apostles, Prophets, Teachers and Evangelists. It cannot reach a measure of stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ if it is not five-fold. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

It is the responsibility of Apostles and Prophets to lay the foundation of the five-fold into the church with Jesus as the cornerstone. The household of God cannot be built into its full stature without this. With the prophetic we hear and with the apostolic we do. The government of God must be set in by people who can hear what God is saying to the Church and then bring it about. In 1 Corinthians 12:28 it tells us God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then gifts of healing, helps, administrations and various kinds of tongues. God appoints apostles and prophets in the Church to lay a Kingdom foundation for the Church to build upon. When Apostles and prophets take their place in the Church, they will become a benefit to pastors, until then they are looked at as a threat.

The new wineskin Church will embrace apostles and prophets and then fulfill God’s mandate to establish His Kingdom on earth and in cities, as it is in Heaven.
