The Power of the Spoken Word - Cal Pierce

God's Word tells us that there is power in the spoken Word. In our daily activities we have a tendency to forget this. The spoken Word can have a great effect on our daily activities if we know how to use it for God's glory. We are told in Proverbs, chapter 18, verse 21, that, "Life and death are in the power of the tongue." In this scripture life means freedom and death means ruin. Our tongue will either set people free or it will ruin them. What we need to ask ourselves is who has influence over our tongue; is it God or is it the enemy?

God gives us His Word so that His will for us can be fulfilled. The spoken Word of God carries fulfillment in it. Let's look at I Cor. 2:12 - 13. "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we might know the things freely given to us from God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words."

This is an amazing scripture. It tells us that we have received the Spirit of God so that we can know what God has freely given to us. Then it goes on to say we are to speak those things by combining spiritual words with spiritual thoughts. This tells us when we read the Word it will develop thoughts that we speak into the world for the fulfillment of God's will. The Word of God then becomes creative on our behalf.

When we speak the Word of God it is empowered by God into the world. This happens by Psalm 103, verse 20, "Bless the Lord, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His Word, obeying the voice of His Word!"

Angels of God are waiting to hear the sound of God's Word that we speak. When we speak it, they perform it. This is why faith is important. We read the Word, it produces faith, faith then requires us to confess those things of God's will that are not yet. We confess, or speak, by our faith, angels hear what we say and then are assigned to carry it out on our behalf. Then the Kingdom of God is established on earth as it is in Heaven.

As we speak the Word (will) of God over our circumstances, we activate angels to fulfill it and our circumstances then begin to line up with God's desires for our lives.
