Fathers Over Cities - Cal Pierce
God is calling fathers to be watchmen over cities. In Ephesians 6:12, we are told our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the powers and forces of darkness and wickedness from demonic realms. Apostolic fathers have authority over those demonic forces. These fathers are foundational or governmental when they activate the five-fold ministry over cities. They are given authority by God to establish His Kingdom in cities. When they take their place as watchmen, the enemy will lose his authority.
Psalm 91 will be a key to the authority of these fathers. I have looked at key words in Psalm 91 –
vs. 1 – “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.”
The word shadow means His covering and His defense.
Vs. 2 – “I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress.’”
The word refuge means shelter and protection.
Vs. 9 – “He will cover you with His pinions and under His wings you may seek refuge.”
The word pinions means His angels charge concerning you. The words angels charge concerning you means to appoint for the purpose to get order.
Vs. 15-16 – “He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see my salvation;”
The word salvation means deliverance, victory, health and to save.”
When we father cities under God’s authority, Psalm 91 tells us He will cover us and defend us. Our cities will be a refuge under the shelter and protection of God. He will cover us with His pinions to bind and shackle the enemy in the city. He will assign His angels in order to establish His will in our cities. Then our cities will be known as cities of salvation where God’s people can run to for deliverance, victory and health. They will be cities of light where the lost can run out of the darkness into the light and be saved. These cities will experience great revival and great harvest. These will be cities that are fathered and where our God reigns.
